PRIORY PLACE, BILLERICAY: Douglas and Shirley Taffs - A flat move

Douglas and Shirley Taffs were also among the first arrivals at Priory Place. “We have lived in Billericay since 1961" says Shirley, “but when the girls left home, we moved out to Stock which was lovely, but then moved back to Billericay to be nearer the shops. Our house was on a hill and my husband is not as fit as he was, so we were delighted to find this place - one of the few flat bits in the area!” The Taffs have a first floor apartment which has two bedrooms and a study as well as a large living room. “Downsizing is quite a business, but we do have a Co-op and a newsagent just opposite and a bus stop outside the door so it couldn’t be more convenient. One of our daughters lives round the corner and the other in Chelmsford, and two of our old neighbours are here as well. I think we’ll be really happy here.”
