PRIORY PLACE, BILLERICAY: Wendy Lyons - Her choice is made!

For Wendy Lyons when it came to downsizing it was a choice between staying in Billericay where she was born and brought up, or moving to Shoeburyness to be near her third son. In the end Billericay won - the chance of living in a secure development near her twin sister, two of her sons and most of her friends was too much of a draw.

“After my husband died our house was too big for me really” she says. “Maintaining the garden was getting too much and I did need to release some of the finance tied up in the house.” A neighbour had looked at the Grange which first put the idea into her head. “Ideally I wanted a bungalow,” she says, “but here I have the end apartment with a ground and first floor and my own front door and patio, which is almost the same thing. I moved in in May and two of my old neighbours are living here as well!”
